OBS Lifestyle Questionnaires

Enrolled pregnant individuals complete three lifestyle questionnaires (LSQs) using Research Electronic Data Capture platform (REDCap). The questionnaires are sent at 12-16 and 28-32 weeks gestation and 6-10 weeks postpartum. A table of items collected within each Lifestyle Questionnaire can be found below.

OBS Diet History Questionnaire

The web-based Canadian Diet History Questionnaire II (DHQ) is a food frequency questionnaire that queries the participant’s diet over the past month, including information on portion sizes. The daily nutrient intake (including total calories, macronutrients, micronutrients, and intake from supplements) is derived using Diet*Calc software.

OBS Kids Data Collection Structure

OBS Kids continues follow-up with those who participated in OBS after giving birth. Interviews are conducted at 8 months, 24 months, 36 months, and 4.5 years either via telephone or home visits (at 24 months and 4.5 years), when permitted. The OBS Kids data collection structure can be found below.
