Kurinche Thiyagarajah

Kurinche Thiyagarajah is an undergraduate student at McMaster University studying Honours Biology. She joined the team as a research student with the PREVAIL Trial and Ontario Birth Study, where she supports clinical data extraction related to gestational diabetes and maternal metabolic profiles. Kurinche is interested in endocrinology, diabetes prevention, and women’s metabolic health. She hopes to pursue a future career in healthcare and is excited to continue exploring beta-cell function, disease prevention, and treatment strategies. Kurinche’s journey in diabetes research began with SCORE! Family Health Van, where she supports Type 2 diabetes screening and education for newcomer families in Hamilton. She also received the William Osler Health System service award for 100+ volunteer hours in front desk, critical care and team lead settings at Etobicoke General Hospital. In her spare time, Kurinche enjoys reading, dancing and exploring new food spots.
